How To Install and Setup Google Analyticator on Your WordPress Blog
In this video I am going to show you how to set up Google Analyticator for your WordPress blog so that you can see where people are coming from to your website, what brings them there, how they found you, what they’re clicking on, how long they’re staying, and all that good stuff.
Tracking your visitors to your website is the number one most important thing you can do. As I have said.
You have to know what is going on with your website.
So go to http://www.google.com/analytics/ and create an account or sign in.
Once you have a Google Analytics account set up (link to another article of mine), go to your website dashboard at YOUR-DOMAIN-DOT-SOMETHING/wp-admin/, scroll over Plugins and click on Add New.
Type in the search box: analyticator
It will be the top result. Click Install Now.
Click Activate Plugin.
Hover over Settings and click Google Analytics.
Click on the appropriate link depending on whether you have popups blocked.
Click on the Google account that you used to create your Analytics account.
On the next page, highlight and copy (Ctrl+C for PC or Command+C for Mac) the entire code you see.
Back at your WordPress Dashboard in the Activate Google Analyticator screen, paste (Ctrl+V for PC or Command+V for Mac) the code, click Save & Continue.
Under Basic Settings select Enabled from the drop down box.
Select the proper Google Analytics UID from the drop down box.
Under Tracking Settings select No from the drop down for “Track all logged in WordPress users”. (What a great feature from Analyticator!)
Scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Save Changes.
Your Google Analyticator is now set up. You are ready to track and see where your visitors are coming from, how they’re finding you, and so forth.
It’s really simple to do and you should definitely do this right away, maybe even before you publish your first post! It’s so crucial to your success.
Now you can log into your Google Analytics account any time you want and see your traffic information.
